I purchased a record and the paper sleeve or jacket has a slight corner bump, crease or seam split edge. Can I get a replacement or a refund?Updated 2 months ago

We do our best to ensure that your record reaches you in the best possible condition. However, due to the nature of the product (record in a paper sleeve and paperboard jacket) and the fact that these are handled and shipped worldwide from the moment they are manufactured, small corner dings, seam splits and other superficial damage do sometimes occur. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee against these issues as shipping companies consider them cosmetic and do not offer compensation. Since record dust jackets and sleeves are made of paper or paperboard and are very susceptible to tearing or creasing, we cannot offer replacement jackets, sleeves or refunds for issues such as corner bumps or seam splits. If you're a collector who prefers mint condition jackets or sleeves, an alternative option might be to order and pick up the record at your local record store to possibly inspect it before purchase.

Regarding seam splits in particular, one thing that might reduce the likelihood of them occurring would be to ask us to unseal the record and remove the disc(s) from the jacket prior to shipping. We're not at liberty to do this for every order without permission, but please feel free to contact the store's customer support team before completing your order if you would like us to provide this additional service, and we'll look into it. The disc itself may not have the protection of the jacket in that case, but there should be less chance of seam-splits occurring to the jacket in transit.
